Women In Scripture Starts New “Genesis” Study

In 2000, CBC founded Women In Scripture (WIS), a weekly Bible study with the purpose of offering women a secure place to study God’s Word, laugh, cry, talk, share and grow in the Lord. Since then, dozens of women from the Lilburn community and surrounding areas have benefited from this insightful, in-depth study.

This year, WIS launches a new study in Genesis. Join us as we delve into this magnificent “book of beginnings” and discover ancient truths that still have the power to change our lives today. Over a two-year span, we will cover:

WIS logo
bulletThe Creation bulletThe Fall of Mankind bullet The Great Flood
bullet Abraham & Sarah bullet Jacob & Esau bullet Rachel & Leah
bullet Isaac & Rebekah bullet Joseph & his brothers

Relive again the great stories of the Patriarchs as God reveals His love for mankind, the consequences of sin, and the covenant promises ultimately fulfilled by Jesus Christ. See how applications from these lessons can impact your life, no matter where you are or what you are experiencing.

In addition, the Day Class provides school age children (ages 6-12 or grades 1-6) with a Bible study of Genesis through lessons, games, projects, skits, and discussions. This "kid friendly" program will coincide with the adult schedule, allowing mother and child to learn the same lessons and grow together.

Four-Part Class Format

WIS is a four-part study, with each part building on the other for a deeper understanding of God’s Word and application to daily living.

bullet Questions for personal study at home
bullet Discussion of the questions in a small group setting
bullet Application-oriented lecture on the week’s study
bullet Verse-by-verse commentary on the week’s Scripture passages

All study questions and commentary researched and written by senior pastor Dr. Doug McIntosh.

New this year: At the beginning of each semester, students will receive a notebook containing each semester’s questions and commentaries. This allows for greater flexibility in self-study.
