CBC is committed to providing a warm, nurturing environment for youngsters. Our teachers and nursery staff welcome your child into their rooms, whether you are a regular attender or a visitor. We are glad to see you and your children! Here’s what you can expect from our program.
Nursery – CBC offers a complete nursery for newborn babies through age 2 with a visually inviting, safe, clean environment with age-appropriate equipment and toys. We offer more than “just’ childcare! Toddlers are taught Bible stories with books and music tapes. Our trained staff of adults and teens cares for your child with care, prayer and thoughtfulness. Nursery staff is ready to accept little ones by 9:30 every Sunday morning and care is provided through 12 noon, when the worship service concludes.
Sunday School/First Hour – Sunday School classrooms are taught by experienced teachers every Sunday morning, using the David C. Cook curriculum for all classes. This ministry teaches fundamental Bible doctrine to children, starting with two-year olds through 5th grade. Through Bible stories, Scripture memorization, prayer, praise, topic-related arts and crafts, and music, children learn the basics of the Christian faith, and are taught how to apply what they learn to daily life.
Sunday School begins at 9:30 AM.
Children’s Church/Second Hour – Children’s Church is an educational ministry for elementary age children in 2nd – 5th grades. These children attend the opening part of the worship service, then are dismissed to the Fellowship Hall around 11:15. Here they participate in a separate program of Christian instruction, which varies by semester. A recent program included an in-depth study of C.S. Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia.

Students in grades 2nd - 5th attend the worship service until about 11:15, when they are dismissed (from the pulpit) to attend Children's Church inthe Fellowship Hall.
This year, 26 children (ages 7-17) participated in our children's musical, plus an additional 11 little ones (ages 4-6), for a total of 37 children up on stage! We began practicing the first Sunday in June, with our final performance on September 20. In between, director Lauri Petty, assistants Karen Hutto and Sally Johnston, and choreographer Dotti Warren worked long and hard with this large group to learn the music, dialogue and dance steps. End result? A fantastic show that not only pleased the crowd, but shared an excellent message: Jesus is the key to life! We thank all the children (and their parents) for their involvement in this production. As one of the songs says, "We've studied hard, we've learned the truth. Now it's time to share the news!" Our kids certainly did a super job of "sharing the news" during our performance!
View "Life School Musical" program HERE. Sing for the Lord! Seasonal children’s choir typically performs for Christmas and Easter, featuring the younger children, ages 3 through 2nd grade. Rehearsals take place on Sunday mornings. Performances are during the worship service.
Theme Events Other fun activities, like a recent Western-themed event that includes Sunday lunch, games, outdoor activities, story-telling, face painting and a piñata, take place from time to time and will be announced at church.
